2024 Zion’s Thanksgiving Appeal

This Thanksgiving, join Zion’s Thanksgiving Appeal to share the season’s blessings with New American families in our community. You can help by donating during Sunday worship on November 24th or at the Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 26th, at 7 PM, or by volunteering through the Global Friends Coalition. Whether you give a gift, supplies, or your time, every act of kindness makes a difference. Let’s come together to spread hope and live out the true spirit of Thanksgiving!

“The Emet Collective”

We have created a new young adults’ group named “The Emet Collective.”
Emet (אמת), meaning “truth” in Hebrew, reflects the heart of our mission. This group is dedicated to sharing the truth of Christianity through praise/worship, apologetics, and evangelism.

We invite anyone interested in growing in faith and exploring the message of Christ to join us as we worship, learn, and share the gospel together. Let’s walk in Emet—the truth that transforms lives.

Worship Schedule

We will be returning to our regular worship schedule on Sunday September 1st. Worship Services will begin at 10:30 AM. Sunday School for all ages will start on Rally Sunday, September 8th at 9:15 AM.

Zion Building Improvement Initiative

Over the past year and a half, there has been a surge of interest in improving the physical infrastructure of our church. Generous donations have allowed us to address some immediate needs around the building. However, as the Trustees continue to evaluate our church property, they have identified other long-deferred needs. For more details, visit our Building Improvement Initiative Webpage.

Waffle Wednesday

CHILDREN’S CLASSES
Pre-K through 5th Grade – Nancy Flint and Helen Demaster

6th through 12th Grade – Zion mentors for youth and Pastor Chang

ADULT CLASSES
Zion’s Gate (John Shabb & Don Miller)
Zion’s Gate uses the Wired Word curriculum to consider current events through the eyes of the Christian faith. A major news story is examined and then discussed with reference to the Bible and our own faith experiences as Christians who have to contend with secular society. The class gathers in the Narthex. Bring your own experiences and reflections to share. 
 
Explorers in Spirit (Connie Sherwood & Wayne Seames)
This spring the Bible Explorers Sunday morning adult class is studying the Minor Prophets of the Old Testament. Do you know which book is the shortest in the Old Testament? How about the only Old Testament book not referenced in the New Testament? How many books were written by the Minor Prophets and what time periods were they written during? What messages has God revealed in this books that is relevant and meaningful for modern Christian life? We will explore the answers to these and many more questions each week, in the Sisters in Spirit Room across from the Quilters room in the Southwest wing of Zion.

Love Feast

On the last Tuesday of every month, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Zion UMC hosts The Love Feast—a free meal open to all. We welcome everyone to come share a meal with us! This gathering is part of our ongoing mission to connect with and serve our community, and it stands as Zion’s largest year-round outreach effort.
