WORSHIP TIME CHANGE

The responses for the congregational survey came back, and we will move the start time for our Sunday Worship Service to 10:30, starting June 12.  Sunday School for ALL ages will be offered at 9:15 AM from the second Sunday of September. Thank you to everyone for completing the survey.

New Sermon Series “The Beatitudes”

We start a new sermon series “The Beatitudes” in the first week of May.
The beatitudes are part of ‘the Sermon on the Mount’  that is recorded in the gospel Matthew. Through these 8 Beatitudes, Jesus teaches the virtues and values in life that will result in blessings and rewards of happiness.
For this special sermon series, a group of Zion friends prepared handmade buttons for your collection. Each week as the pastor covers different characters in the Beatitudes, the buttons with different designs will be released. You wouldn’t want to miss them!

2022 EASTER

Happy Easter! Christ is Risen, and we celebrate his defeat of death and the hope of salvation on this day. Come and join our worship celebration at 9:30 AM.

Sunday School

Sunday School is back! Please see below the time and the teacher of the classes.

CHILDREN’S CLASSES
Pre-K through 5th Grade – Betty Nordeng and Youna Rhee (Fireside Room)

6th through 12th Grade – Matt Myrick and Caleb Strom (Downstairs Youth Room)

ADULT CLASSES
Zion’s Gate (John Shabb)
Zion’s Gate is Gearing Up for the Fall! Join class facilitator, John Shabb in the Narthex following the church service for meaningful discussion. The Wired Word provides us with focused scriptures centered around a current event.  Bring your own experiences and reflections to share.

Explorers in Spirit (Connie Sherwood & Wayne Seames)
The Explorers in Spirit adult bible study class focuses on how the information contained in books or selections from the Bible increases our understanding of what it means to be a Christian. These studies help us peel back 2000 years of history so that we have a better understanding of the original intent of each bible passage and how these lessons apply to the modern Christian. By doing so, we have a better understanding of what Christian’s believe and of our mission as Christ’s disciples. The class meets in the recently renovated Sisters in Spirit room in the Upper West Wing of the church (just West of the Fellowship Hall). Studies are led by Wayne Seames and Connie Sherwood.

Love Feast

The Love Feast meal is a free meal offered at Zion UMC on the last Tuesday of each month. All are welcome and the meal is offered between 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
The Love Feast event is part of our Mission Team Projects and is the largest year round Mission at Zion.
