Who We Are

Zion is a congregation of The United Methodist Church. If you want to go directly to a summary of our beliefs, click here.

Our church began its life as an Evangelical mission church in Grand Forks, in the mid 1880s.  We became an Evangelical United Brethren congregation when the Evangelical and United Brethren in Christ denominations merged in 1946;  we became known as Zion United Methodist Church with the Evangelical United Brethren and The Methodist Church merger in 1968.  We have been at our present location of 1001 24th Avenue South in Grand Forks since 1962.

As a congregation, we place a high value on strong families formed and nourished by a strong faith in God and Our Savior, Jesus Christ.  From this foundation, we work for changed hearts and a changed world to the glory of God and the living presence of His Kingdom on earth.

If you are looking for a church to call home, we hope you will come to Zion and learn more about us – and let us make you welcome in God’s house.
